Visit our beautiful historical village on the 21st of March 2024 on the Atlantic Rail & Ceres Rail Company vintage steam train!
The train leaves from the AC Hotel at Marriot (close to the Waterfront) at 09h00, traveling via Bellville, down to Maitland, and then from Observatory to 15h00.
From there on to False Bay where the view of the ocean is magnificent…
The railway line follows the coastline as it travels through the quaint villages of St James and Kalk Bay, then winds through Fish Hoek and Glencairn, finally coming to an end in Simon’s Town with a view of the naval dockyard.. The trip should arrive at 11h30.
Passengers are free to explore Simon’s Town, stroll to the beach or have a bite to eat at the many cafes and restaurants. The train then returns along the same route back to Cape Town at 15h00.

The stroll into the centre of Simon’s Town is around 1 kilometre and you will pass many points of historic interest, including Admiralty House, Simon’s Town Museum, the Naval Museum and plenty of pretty buildings, including the home of The Sweetest Thing patisserie which is an experience not to be missed!
