Active Citizenship initiatives have delivered a few fantastic outcomes:
• The CLEAN SIMON’S TOWN programme combines community Clean Ups (World Ocean Day, Mandela Day, Coastal Clean-Up Day) with a move towards an eco-friendly/ no plastic retail environment.
• The SIMONS TOWN BOULES CLUB meets every Sunday afternoon (15h00) in Runciman Drive.
• The SIMONS TOWN CIVIC ASSOCIATION’s gardens project which continues to keep our public garden areas and verges maintained.
There are many other needs which lend themselves to Active Citizenship and we look forward to ‘community champions’ coming forward to drive such initiatives.
