To celebrate Heritage Day there will be a 12 kilometer Fun Run in Simon’s Town at 0700 on Sunday 23rd September. It will be run in the style of “Sunday Stars” (a running group affiliated to VOB Running Club) – There is no entrance fee but each participant is asked to bring a 2 litre bottle of Coke and a “Coke (and water) Stop” will be provided at about every 3 kilometres. There will be no prizes for coming first (or last) – the idea being to have an enjoyable social run past many of the Heritage Sites of Simon’s Town at a gentle pace (about 7 minutes per kilometer). Walkers are also welcome but would need to adjust their routes appropriately – e.g. just do first two legs. |
