Cottage welcomes you. Hike along Admiral's Trail
to the waterfall above the town, spend lazy days on Seaforth
Beach or browsing through the local galleries and shops - these
are all an easy walk from your luxurious holiday home from home.
The town is surrounded by nature including the local Jackass
penguin colony and nearby Table Mountain National Park. Simon's
Town is rich in architectural history, and has an active naval
base, itself a product of the long seafaring tradition of the
town. The Cape of Good Hope and the Atlantic and Indian oceans
are nearby - come experience both in the same day!

ACCOMMODATION
Thunderclap
Cottage has two bedrooms (1 double bed and
2 single beds). Both have en-suite bathrooms, one with
a Victorian bath and shower and the other with a shower.
It has a fully equipped modern kitchen with granite
tops, electric stove, fridge/freezer, microwave and
all the necessary cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils.
A washing machine is also available. There is a spacious
living area, the sitting room area having a fireplace,
TV and DVD player and the dining room area opening
out into a secluded back garden. Barbeque facilities
are available which can be used on the front porch
or in the back garden. Off-street parking is available
opposite the house or in the back garden behind a locked
gate.

All
bedding, linen and towels (including beach towels) are
provided and the house is serviced weekly. Daily servicing
can be arranged on request.
PLACES
TO VISIT AND THINGS TO DO
Simon's Town itself is
an historic town with an interesting naval and cultural
history. The town has many excellent restaurants and is
a prime location for whale-watching (in season). Sea kayaking
is a popular outdoor activity with routes starting from
the Simon's Town waterfront. Sailing, scuba diving and
boat charters are available, as well as cycling, hiking,
and horse riding. Cape Point nature reserve is only 15
minutes by car. The 'Scratch Patch' in Glencairn, a large
gemstone factory, is a wonderful place to spend an hour
or two- for children and adults alike.

Simon's Town is also close to the
city of Cape Town which is world famous for its many natural
(e.g. Table Mountain) and tourist attractions (e.g. V&A
Waterfront) and there are also many fabulous wine routes
in the Western Cape (e.g. Constantia, Stellenbosch, Paarl
and Franschoek) right on your doorstep.
